Two Game Changing Reads!!

Well it’s not often you will find book reviews on my blog! Matter of fact this is the first.  However, when you come across great content like this, I have to share it.  These two books were GAME CHANGING for me! I have read both cover to cover, actually ready Crush It 2x and listened to audio book 3x.  Either way, get in there, grab these books and change your game!

In October, looking to enhance my own small business opportunities through social media, I came across Gary Vaynerchuk and his book called Crush It: Why now is the time to cash in on your passion! . Let me tell you, that I was hooked from chapter 1. Gary V. is an in your face type of guy, with authentic value in his read.  He breaks down his life’s passions, as they evolved from baseball cards to a multi million dollar wine business, but keeping his fabric the same…his PASSION and the ability to “Work his face off..”  Gary V. provides you will all the tools and a break down of many vendors like Facebook and Twtter to Viddler and Ping.fm as a way to create a brand and get your content out there.  There is one great message that you must not over look and that is your content. Your content trumps all, with it, you are a player in any niche/market, without you are nothing. This book is exactly what EVERYONE should be reading if you want to do what you love! Buyer beware: You will be hooked! at least i was.

My second read is called Rework by Jason Fried and David Heinemeier Hansson of 37signals.  With a March realease date, this book has had a rapid climb to #12 on Amazon.  Here is why, Jason and David break many of the myths that cause a company, no matter how big or small, to an ineffective and unproductive project.  Why do you want to have a meeting? What are you kidding me? Well they give you a great view as to why they are ineffective and how meetings spiral out of control into other meetings.  That is just one exampe! The entire book is about the surface feelings of your work day. What are you doing on a day in day out basis. Is that really the best approach. You want to pull that all nighter? Why? Cause others think its a good idea? Does that really show you are “working hard”?  Find your niche, master it and profit from it!

You can Link to these books, you should get your self started on these immediately.
